I truly respected Elaine as a great and sincere teacher. The students loved her as did her fellow teachers. Elaine laughed easily and had a great sense of humor. I am sorry her last few years have been less than fulfilling. In Florida for the month. So unable to visit. Larry was one of my favorite students in Biology. Marlan Maidlow

I have thought of Mrs. Pitman many times over the years. I was a student of hers at Bosse in the late 70's. She stood out above all other teachers with her warm heart and caring nature towards her students. She had a positive impact on my life and many others she taught. Julie Clayton (Evansville, IN)

Dear son and daughter of Elaine, my name is Monsie. I was a Spanish teacher at Bosse High School. I started teaching there in 1976. Elaine was my friend and mentor. I am saddened by the news of Elaine's passing. I have great memories of my friendship with Elaine and all she taught me. She helped me so much, we laughed so much. Elaine was a wonderful person; I loved her and respected her immensely. My husband and I moved to Melbourne, Florida five years ago after we retired. I will never forget her. My deepest sympathy, Monsie Woehler (Melbourne, FL)

I was one of Mrs. Pitman’s many students. I graduated Bosse High School in June of 1982. I was not only lucky enough to have her as an English teacher but as a homeroom teacher as well. I would get to school early carrying a bag from the donut bank. Inside I had two Bavarian Cream donuts. One was for me and one was for Mrs. Pitman. We would enjoy our donuts and talk about anything and everything. She had a way of making you feel good when things seemed to be going wrong. My biggest memory of her would have to be her pink flair markers. She did not grade in red like the other teacher. She loved pink and used it all the time. She said when red was used it looked like the teacher bleed all over the paper. If she especially liked your paper you got her biggest reward; a big smile face in pink of course. I have one of those in my year book.

Although she may be gone from this world I will always remember her.
