Virginia 'Ginny' (Ahlering) Hess, 88, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2006, at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville.
She was born July 17, 1918, in Evansville, and a graduate of Bosse High School [1936?]. She worked as a medical assistant to the late Dr. Hugh Stallings for 23 years. She enjoyed playing golf and was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by a son, Michael Hess and his wife, Marian, of Orlando, Fla.; brother, Raymond Ahlering Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and Carol Ahlering of Evansville; grandson, Michael Hess Jr. and his wife, Teena, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 17 years, Francis Hess, in 1957, parents, Elizabeth (Gerbig) and Raymond Ahlering Sr., sister, Katherine Beach, and a sister-in-law, Mary Ahlering.
Services are planned for noon Friday, November 24, 2006, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, with Monsignor Kenneth Knapp officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Evansville.
Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, November 24, at Browning Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church or VNA Charlier Hospice.
