Birdie "Jean" (Allen) Chilton


Birdie "Jean" (Allen) Chilton, 68, of Evansville, Ind., passed away Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital.

Jean graduated in 1955 (?) from Bosse High School. She was a member of Faith Church of the Nazarene. Jean was formerly employed with Visiting Nurse Plus. Her family was the most important aspect of her life. She dearly loved them all and would do anything she could for each and every one of her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Keith Allen Chilton, in 1973, when he was only 5 years old. Her grandson Darren DeBlanc, in 2005, who was killed serving our country in Iraq and her son-in-law, Ralph Wood, in 2002.

She is survived by her loving family, three daughters, Pam Wood and Ed Curtin, of Evansville, Ind., Barb Fisher and her husband, Rick of Boonville, Ind., Judy DeBlanc, of Evansville, Ind.; two sons, Steven Chilton and his wife, Janeen of Cincinnati, Ohio, Anthony R. Chilton and his wife, Karen, of Newburgh, Ind.; mother, Eunice Allen, Evansville, Ind.; two sisters, Wanda Rainey and her husband, Don, of Evansville, Patty Thomason and her husband, Ronnie, of Evansville, Ind.; brother, William E. Allen and his wife, Joelle, of Elizabeth, Ind.; grandchildren, Melvin Reiter, Jamie Wood and Vjeko Vrcic, Keith Reiter, Mandy Vollman, Angela Beck and her husband, Jacen, Heather Hill and Mike, Michael DeBlanc and Beth Evans, Kelli Reiter, Jason Chilton, Tabatha Chilton, Brittany Crawford, Erica Richardson; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kyle, Caitlyn, Larissa, Whitney, Matti Jo, Hunter, Kaleb, Blake, Nevah, Kden and Dillon.

Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave. Burial will be held at Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, at Browning Funeral Home.
