Dorothy B. (Boner) Zubrod, 91, of Pineville, N.C., passed away on November 30, 2007.

Dorothy was born February 21, 1916, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Clarence N. Boner and Ethel B. Boner. She attended Bosse High School [1933?] and the University of Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John Fredrick Zubrod.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Anne McKenzie and her husband, Joseph, of Charlotte, N.C.; and grandson, David John Hornack of Pineville, N.C.

Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, who always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and shopping. Her favorite travel destination was Myrtle Beach, where she could walk on the beach and collect seashells.

The family of Mrs. Zubrod expresses their deep appreciation to the staff of the Pineville Rehabilitation and Living Center for all of their kindness and devotion toward our Mother for the past several years.

A reception of remembrance and celebration will be held Friday, December 7, at 1 p.m. at the McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
