Gladys Ruth (Bowman) Crouch


Gladys Ruth (Bowman) Crouch, 92, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Home.

Gladys graduated from Bosse High School [1932?] and received her teaching degree from Evansville College.

She was a member of Morningside Presbyterian Church and a former member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School for 34 years.

Gladys was married to Smith A. Crouch for 66 years. He preceded her in death, as did her sisters, Norma Daly and Mary Lucile Burch.

She is survived by two daughters, Susan Zapchenk of Peotone, Ill. and Nancy Tipton of Evansville; grandchildren, Tracy Broderick, Elizabeth Tanner, Mary Zapchenk, Maria Farmer, and Todd Tipton; great-grandchildren, Brendan and Erin Broderick; Marty and Nicole Tanner; Jackson, Elijah, and Spence Farmer; Sydney and Carson Tipton; one niece and four nephews.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Alexander West Chapel, with burial at Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Alexander West Chapel.
