James G. Fleming, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at the Heritage Center.
Jim was born on August 30, 1936, in Evansville, Indiana. He attended Culver Grade School and Bosse High School [1954?]. Since high school he had been employed by Vanco Beverage, Morton Avenue Warehouse and recently retired from Dallas Towing. Jim was a Kentucky Colonel, a past Commander and Legionnaire of the American Legion Eugene Pate Post 265, a past board member and member of the Henderson County Sportsman Club, past president and member of FOPA 73, member of Voiture 40/8 471 and member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association.
He is survived by a son, Kevin J. Fleming and wife, Angie of Haubstadt, Ind.; grandsons, Dylan Fleming and Dalton Fleming, both of Haubstadt; stepgrandson, Brandon Robertson of Haubstadt; and brother, Adrian A. Fleming of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Adrian A. Fleming, and mother, the former Mildred Powell.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 22, 2006, at Sunset Memorial Park, where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites. The Rev. C. Eugene Willett will officiate.
Friends may visit from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave.
