Patricia Ann (Kanzler) Wright

Patricia Ann (Kanzler) Wright of Reno passed suddenly September 29, 2004 following complications from surgery. Pat lived the love and support she showered on her friends and family.

Born Patricia Kanzler on August 25, 1934, in Evamsville, IN, to Raymond and Marie Kanzler, Pat graduated from Bosse High School in Evansville and worked as a waitress at the family restaurant before starting her family and moving to Azusa CA in 1960. In 1969, she moved her family to Reno and worked as a Customer Service Representative for Sears. In 1979 Pat began a career in medical radiology. When she retired in 1996, after 17 years as the Radiology Coordinator at Washoe Medical Center, she once said, “I didn’t’[t chart the course, but I got to steer the ship.” She spent two additional years as the Coordinator for the Senior Health Center and retired fully in 1998.

Pat loved good jokes and laughed often. She loved music, especially Elvis, Eric Clapton, and Santana. She loved to dance and spent the last five years acquacizing with her many friends at the Northwest Pool and creating ceramic art. If the true worth of a life is not how much we love but how much we are loved by others, then, in the court of the soul, Pat was a Queen.

Pat is survived by her loving daughter Denise Below Calloway and her husband Bob of Wellington; sons Monte Below of Sparks and Keith Wright of Reno; and five beautiful grandchildren Jenna, Caitlyn, Amanda, Jordan and Jaylen.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, at Ross, Burke, and Knobel, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno.
