William E. Morris


William E. Morris, 84, of Evansville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007, at Deaconess Hospital.

Bill retired from United Van Lines while living in Casselberry, Florida. He also worked for Atlas Van Lines, the U.S. Postal Service and was the owner of B&A Service Company. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a graduate of Bosse High School and Mechanic Arts Vocational School.

Bill and his wife, Vernell, celebrated 65 years of marriage in November and enjoyed Christmas this year with all of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Nell, Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Marsha Morris of Slidell, Louisiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Michael Roberts and Pamela and Robert Blessing of Evansville; granddaughters, Stephanie Senff and husband, Sean, Melissa Bright and husband, Sean, Jennifer Roberts and husband, Chris Smearing, Angela Morris, and Amy Williams and husband, Brent; great-grandchildren, Sean Senff, Connor and Luke Bright, Seana Senff and Kassie Senff; and brother, Walter Russell and his wife, Delma, of Evansville.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, December 31, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Don Bernhardt, with burial at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit today from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
