Herschel E. Prince, 93, of Evansville, Ind., died at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007, at Transcendent Healthcare in Boonville, Ind. Herschel was born August 5, 1914, in Thackery, Illinois, to Revie Smith and Hattie (Endicott) Prince. He was a graduate of Bosse High School [1932?] in Evansville. Herschel worked as a printer for Evansville Courier & Press for 45 years. He was a life long member First Christian Church and of Evansville Masonic Lodge No. 64. Herschel also had his brokerage license and was a realtor in Indiana. The family would like to express a special thank you to Erin Whitehouse and the staff of Transcendent Healthcare for their loving care of Herschel and Cody. He is survived by three sisters, Pauline Flener of Evansville, Marietta Blythe of Evansville and Betty Leitz of Texas; special friends, John and Carol Isaacs and their daughter, Traci, who cared for him and were considered family; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Virginia (Walden) Prince, in 1999, two sisters, Juanita and Dorothy, and two brothers, Cecil and Clyde. Funeral Services 2 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, with Reverend David Schwambach officiating. Entombment in Townsend Cemetery in Paradise, Indiana. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service at 2 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2007, at Boone Funeral Home, East Chapel, where the Evansville Masonic Lodge No. 64 will conduct a service at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 121 Walnut Street, Evansville, Indiana 47708. |
