Philip Trockman


Philip Trockman, 84, of Evansville, Indiana, died on Father's Day, Sunday, June 19, 2005, at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Philip graduated from Bosse High School and Indiana University. He was a lifelong resident of Evansville and member of Temple Adath B'nai Israel. He was president of General Waste Products Inc. before he retired in 1982.

Lieutenant Trockman was always modest about the role he played piloting a C-46 in the successful mission of the 6th Combat Cargo Squadron, and its valuable contribution to our victory in WWII.

He is survived by two daughters, Marsha Ann Trockman of Seattle, Washington, and Jane and her husband Barry Potashnick of Seattle, Washington, one son, Jim and his wife Lisa Trockman of Evansville, and grandchildren Jay Potashnick, Rob and wife Leigh Potashnick, Jonathan Gordon, Jami Trockman, Joni Trockman and fiance Danny Weiss, Jordyn Trockman and Asher Trockman.

Philip was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Louise Trockman who died Friday, January 10, 2003 at the age of 82.

Philip was greatly loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He was the family's source of strength with his wisdom, constant support, love and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed but will live in our hearts forever.

Private graveside services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Mount Carmel Cemetery, with Rabbi Barry Freidman officiating.

Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel, 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville handled the arrangements.
