Jerry Edward White


Jerry Edward White, 69, of Evansville , died at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 8, 2005 , at Deaconess Hospice Center .

Jerry was born July 20, 1935, to William and Rose White. He was a graduate of Bosse High School and he served in the United States Marines. He began working at A.B. White & Sons when he was 13. Jerry was a third-generation owner of the company before selling the business to his sons.

He was a member of the Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316, Scottish Rite 32, American Legion Kapperman Post No. 44, Hadi Temple Shriners and the Mariner Club with the Shriners.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Anne White of Evansville; two daughters, Diana Crider and Karen Estes and her husband, Tom, all of Evansville; two sons, Ron White and his wife, Sherri, of Newburgh, and Michael White of Evansville; two stepsons, Greg Zumbuhl and wife, Tonya, and Brian Zumbuhl and wife, Lisa, all of Evansville; a stepdaughter, Stacey Zint of Evansville; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his first wife, Virginia White of Newburgh; his stepmother, Edith Latham of Kansas; three sisters, Wanda Joest and her husband, Paul of Evansville, Susie Hurley of Warrick County and Sharon Hurley of Newburgh; a stepsister, Latisha Guicein of Kansas; and a half brother, Mickey White of Florida.

Services 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005 , at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Father Stephen Lintzenich, with burial at Alexander Park Lawn. The Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites at the cemetery.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. , at Alexander East Chapel, with a Reed Masonic Lodge No. 316 service at 7 p.m.
