William Floyd 'Gringo' Whitney

William Floyd "Gringo" Whitney, age 69, of Evansville , Indiana , died Thursday, November 11, 2004 , at his residence.

Bill was a graduate of Bosse High School . He worked for 40 years at Sterling Brewery.

Bill was a member of the Evansville Athletic Club and he was also a member of the Eagles. Bill was an avid NASCAR fan. He enjoyed living on the river and has lived at his river camp for over 20 years.

Bill is survived by a daughter, Brenda L. Whitney, Evansville, Ind.; sons, Tim Whitney, Evansville, Ind., and Tony Whitney, Evansville, Ind.; grandchildren, Megan Whitney, Melissa Whitney and Keyton Whitney; and sisters, Juanita Tabb, Evansville, Ind., and Wanda Sterneman, Evansville, Ind.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva (Blain) and Roscoe Whitney; and by a sister, Nody Booker.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2004 , at Browning Funeral Home, the Rev. Leslie Tabb officiating, with burial to follow in Oak Hill Cemetery .

Friends may call on Sunday, November 14, 2004 , from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Avenue .
